Step away from the tourist track and into the quiet, historic grid of the Jordaan, behind closed doors into antique warehouses, artisan ateliers, and high-end boutiques you won't find in any guidebook. As we examine antiques and decorative objects spanning centuries of European design history, I'll help you see these pieces through a designer's eye and share how to confidently layer them into a contemporary home. We'll pause at a hidden local favorite for a glass of wine, coffee, or a snack before concluding the hunt.

The Noordermarkt Hunt
Forget hushed galleries and curated boutiques, Monday mornings at Noordermarkt are something else entirely. Stalls stretch for blocks, with the sheer volume of vintage glassware, mid-century lighting, and decades of Amsterdam attics, all of which can overwhelm even seasoned collectors. This is the real hunt, and I'm your translator.
I'll take you straight to the stalls worth your time, introduce you to local dealers who sell directly from the source, and into a mid-century warehouse so packed and unpriced it once supplied half the set of Mad Men. Nothing here is curated for you in advance, and finding the diamond in the rough is half the thrill. As one Google reviewer put it better than I could: “If you don't like this place, you don't get Amsterdam.”
